Job Requirements
We are currently seeking an additional Instructor for our Certified Medical Administrative Assistant and Medical Coding and Billing training programs. Please note that this position requires a high level of competency with both Windows based Medical software AND Microsoft Office. This is a full-time salaried position with company paid employee health benefits, and an attractive benefits package.
Local candidates only – Candidates without direct Medical or Instructional backgrounds will not be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruct Students in:
- Coding (ICD-9-CM, HCPCS)
- Claims process (CMS1500, electronic transfer of claims)
- HIPAA; MediSoft
- Medical Front Desk Procedures
- Microsoft Word, Windows, basic Excel (Office 2007 preferred)
Job Skills and Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Coding Certification with min 2 years of coding experience
- CPC, CCS certification preferred, CCA with experience acceptable
- Practice Management software experience
- Instructor experience highly preferred
- Above average comfort level with IT technology
- Ability to develop lecture and activities for full day (6 hour) courses
- Exhibits the highest level of professionalism
- Excellent Computer / Microsoft Office Skills
- Creative yet disciplined approach to presenting course content
- Flexibility in teaching style and course assignments
- Ability to both follow a text and create material for classes
Duties Include:
- Plan, prepare and deliver quality classroom instruction in lecture and/or laboratory format based on the approved curricula.
- Delivering lectures and facilitating interactive learning on the various subject matter areas and assisting students in the learning process.
- Evaluating and monitoring all students’ progress.
- Actively contributing to and documenting ongoing program development.
- Assisting with regular curriculum reviews and modifications.
- Tutor and provide student academic support as needed.
- Manage classroom teaching conditions and environment through active instructor presence in order to promote a professional and positive student experience.
- Select and utilize a variety of approved course materials and teaching methods to ensure that the needs of individual students are met.
